Yannick lived in the neighbourhood of kanyosha in Bujumbura.  Kanyosha happened to be an opposition stronghold and he, like many other young people in his area participated in demonstrations against the illegal 3rd term of the president. There was an attempted military coup and the government took that opportunity to persecute everyone. Yannick had to flee the country.

When he arrived in Rwanda, Yannick reached out to Rev. Fulgence Ndagijimana who helped to coordinate support from Flaming Chalice International.

With a passion for cooking, Yannick applied at a school for chefs and was accepted. Through the Flaming Chalice, he got the support he needed to pay for rent, food and the basics he needed for his training.

Together with his classmates, he is working to start a company that will cater for the large Burundian population that lives in Kigali. Now Yannick needs capital to start the business.

14 young men and women want to start this company with $4000. Once again he has turned to Flaming Chalice for help, and Flaming turns to you.

Would you help Yannick start his business and provide jobs to other refugees?
